We are sitting at the Air New Zealand gate, waiting for the flight. It will be a 13 hour flight, When we get to Aukland it will be 5am local time Monday morning.
The plan then is to pick up the rental phone and rental car, and drive to our hotel for the first 2 nights in Tauranga. It should be about a 2.5 hour drive. It's going to be interesting driving on the left. I've been trying to get ready for it mentally over the past couple of weeks by imagining driving on the left... I'm sure it will be very different from what I can imagine.
